Anthony Riccio, Owner Winemaker Anthony Riccio spent a good portion of his youth in Morris County, living the simple life, working on a farm. He enjoyed the satisfaction of a day’s labor in the field, which was a harbinger to his current pursuit of viticulture. After traveling the Tuscan countryside and watching hands take grapes from vine to wine, he decided to bring his heritage and passion for winemaking to the region where his love for working the land began. His goal is to fuse the old world with the place he again calls home. Deneah Bledsoe, Enologist Starting at a young age, Deneah Bledsoe was intrigued with the sciences and the laboratory setting. Following high school she attended Stetson University, earning her degree in Biology and Chemistry. After meeting her husband Anthony and traveling to Italy, her knowledge, appreciation and fascination with wines grew exponentially. She fell in love with the land, culture and people which lead them to buy a small home in a remote Umbrian village. After befriending a wonderful Italian winemaking family, she enjoyed her first real taste of hands-on vinification. Following this pivotal experience, Deneah began her studies at the University of California, Davis, earning a certification in viticulture and enology. As the enologist for Cava, Deneah is committed to exploring the delicate world of winemakin and strives to establish a benchmark for New Jersey wines. Her goal is to create wines that stay true to the bold Italian style, while encouraging Cava's own unique and wonderful blends. Michael and Darren >> |
